Jill Hamann-Bannister had a lot to celebrate at the February 18-19, 2017 WE United B-Rated competition hosted by Working Equitation Oregon. Not only did she and her self-trained Quarter Horse gelding Omni’s Easy  Jet take home the first place win overall in a highly-competitive Novice B  Open class, their performance also garnered Hamann-Bannister the final scores needed to enter the ranks of Working Equitation Bronze Medalists.

Jill’s scores have been earned under three different judges over the course of two competition seasons. Her qualifying scores include:

  • 63.33% in Dressage, April 16, 2016 B-Rated Competition, Eugene, Oregon. Judge: Tarrin Warren.
  • 65.66% in Dressage, June 18, 2016 B-Rated Competition, Redmond, Oregon. Judge: Doreen Atkinson.

  • 63.24% in Ease of Handling, Novice B. February 19, 2017 B-Rated Competition, Eugene, Oregon. Judge: Barbara Price.

All Jill’s Bronze medal scores were earned on Omni’s Easy Jet. An American Quarter Horse gelding born in 1993, “Easy” is currently the oldest actively competing horse registered with WE United.  Before starting his very successful WE career, Omni’s Easy Jet traveled hundreds of miles of trail as Jill’s endurance racing mount. Together, the two are well-known in the Pacific Northwest for their blistering fast speed rounds.

A student in the Pedro Torres Academy of Working Equitation, USA, Jill often brings others with her to join in the fun at Working Equitation competitions.

Congratulations, Jill, on this wonderful accomplishment!
