WE United 2017 Annual Leaderboard

The WE United Annual Leaderboard is designed to recognize the leading horses, riders, and horse/rider pairs in terms of overall points earned at Working Equitation competitions throughout the United States.

For the Working Equitation competition season beginning December 1, 2016 and ending November 30, 2017, the leaderboard reflects scores earned by WE United members at any A-rated, B-rated, or championship show in the United States sanctioned under WE United, WEIAUSA, USFWE, USEF, or WAWE with a judge accredited by WE United.

Below, WE United will list the top 10 horses, American and International riders, and horse/rider pairs at each level as scores become available. Points earned at both Novice/Intermediate A and B are combined under the Novice/Intermediate Levels, respectively.  Points For a complete explanation of the WE United Leaderboard and how points are calculated, please read the Frequently Asked Questions.

To help ‘level the playing field’ for the purpose of the Year-End awards for WE United, we calculate points earned at licensed competitions based purely on the Level ridden (without further separating out by Youth, Amateur, and Open divisions). This process enables competitors across the country to have a more equal opportunity to earn points, based purely on their performance compared to others in the country riding at their level. Event organizers might well decide to award prizes based on rider divisions, etc., but when we calculate points earned, those calculations are based on the total # of entries in that level at that competition. This approach ensures that individual competitors are not inadvertently penalized with small class numbers (and thus lower possible points to be earned) when event organizers opt to offer different divisions at a competition. All the points reflected on the 2017 Leaderboard reflect this approach.
