Eleven horse/rider pairs gathered at Creek Hollow Ranch in Ramona, California on August 4, 2018 to compete in a WE United Working Equitation Show. Polly Limond, r, California, officiated.
Lisa Scebbi and Zillertal Atom swept the four-entry Introductory Open class, earning 66.4% in Dressage and 66.88% in Ease of Handling. Carlos Estrada and RC Inverino came in 4th in Dressage (63.8%) and 2nd in Ease of Handling (65%) to finish 2nd overall. Carlos also rode the 3rd-place horse, RC Halgador. The two earned 64.4% in Dressage and 62.19% in Ease of Handling for a 3rd-place finish in both those trials. Michele Purpora-Tardi and Jays Kooky Cutter came in 2nd in Dressage with a solid 65% but were disqualified in Ease of Handling, resulting in a 4th-place finish overall.
In the two-entry Introductory Amateur, Alethia Saladino and Pascoa came in 2nd in Dressage (60.2%) and first in Ease of Handling (67.81%) to finish 1st place overall, while Beth Winningham and Bandits Rainey Monday came in 1st in Dressage (61.20%) and 2nd in Ease of Handling (61.88) to come in 2nd overall.
Sarah Pinney and Cielo won the two-entry Novice A Open class, with 1st place finishes in Dressage (71.61%) and Ease of Handling (72.5%) and a 2nd-place finish in Speed (3:02.35). Bryan Ludens and Lark of Honor Bright came in 2nd in Dressage (68.26%) and Ease of Handling (69.44%) and 1st in Speed (2:42.39) to come in 2nd overall.
Val Pearson and FS Tesoro Nobel finished 2nd in Dressage (65%) and 1st in Ease of Handling (63.06%) and Speed (3:34.12) to place first overall in the three-entry Novice A Amateur class. Andrea Lora and Zarah won the Dressage trial (65.22%) and came in 2nd in Ease of Handling (60.28%), but were disqualified in Speed, to finish 2nd place overall. Darlene Arledge and Stylin Twist earned a strong 62.83% in Dressage and 56.94% in Ease of Handling but also disqualified in Speed, to finish 3rd place overall.
