Posted on Posted in News, Show Report

Haras Dos Cavaleiros hosted a Working Equitation competition in conjunction with their 2017 Spring Festival March 17-18, 2017.

Judges Tarrin Warren, Michael Vermaas, and Amy Star officiated over the A-Rated competition of 28 entries in all (3 Children, 7 Introductory, 4 Novice A, 6 Novice B, 4 Intermediate A, 3 Intermediate B, and 1 Advanced level).

We are currently waiting on complete results to be posted, but in the meantime can provide the results that have been shared publicly.

In the Introductory level class, Haras Dos Cavaleiros riders Joao Goncalves on Invulgar DC and Dori Johnson on Hacendado MOR were tied for first at the end of Ease of Handling, but Joao’s higher average Dressage/Ease of Handling scores earned him the victory.  Both entries qualified for the National Championship with their scores.  WE United Members Susan Dossett on Il Postre and Kathelene Faust, on Whiskey for Doc finished 3rd and 4th, respectively.

Both Joao Goncalves riding the Lusitano Forcado and Jaeden Warren riding the Quarter Horse TNT Countin Mountains earned sufficiently high scores to qualify for the Novice A class at the Working Equitation National Championship taking place September 1-4, 2017 at DevonWood Equestrian Centre in Sherwood, Oregon.

In Novice B, three entries qualified for Nationals: Joao Goncalves on the Lusitanos Hercules DC and Gitano and Deidra Keithley on the Gypsy Vanner Kiss My Angel.

In the Intermediate A class, Haras Dos Cavaleiros rider Dori Johnson and the Lusitano mare Fiona DC placed first in Dressage and Speed to win first place overall.  Jade Watts Gonzales rode two horses in the Intermediate A class, placing first in Ease of Handling and second in Speed to win second overall on the Quarter Horse/Paint Finleehetouchedme and third overall on the Nakota horse Luppy’s Boyfriend.  The 17 points she earned at the event helped move Jade to 2nd in the National standings at the Intermediate level.

As of the time this show report went to press, the results for the Children and Intermediate B classes were not available. We will update the results, and this show report, if we receive the complete results from event organizers.
