Show Report: Haras Summer Festival, 2016

In all, 14 hearty riders and 24 horses braved the July Texas heat to compete in the first Haras Summer Festival hosted by Haras Dos Cavaleiros at their home ranch in Magnolia, Texas.

Lisa Harding, debuting two of Kellee Campbell’s Australian Stock Horses, took first (Sandhaven Chanel) and second place (Sandhaven Claire de Lune) in the largest class of the event, Novice Open, with five riders, while Prissy Rumel and Priscella’s Flight once again demonstrated their dominance, handily winning the Intermediate Open class, and rising to the top of the WE United National Leaderboard at the Intermediate Level.

In the Advanced Level class, Doreen Atkinson and Obadi del Dios once again captured first place, earning points that also brought the two of them to the top position on the National Leaderboard, this time at the Advanced Level.

Meanwhile, two young riders, Joanne Muller and Emily Hyde each rode two horses: one in the Junior class and one in Introductory Youth, swapping first and second place finishes in the two divisions.
