Show Report: Highlander Ranch (HOT #4)

In all, 18 competitors participated in the Highlander Ranch WE competition held November 4-5, 2017 at McClennan Community College in Waco, Texas. Four additional riders schooled the course, riding hors concours at the event judged by Doreen Atkinson, S, Texas.

Riley Pirkle rode Broomer’s Little Lena to a victory in the two-entry Introductory Youth class while Patricia Nunley Mertz and Mr. Gunsmoke Dunnit took home the blue in the one-entry Introductory Amateur class, and Lisa Harding rode Sandhaven Celebration to the overall win in the two-entry Open class.

At the Novice A level, Jaedon Warren rode TNT Countin Mountains to the overall win in the two-entry Youth class while Michael Vermaas came in 1st in Ease of Handling and Speed to take home the overall blue in the four-entry Open class riding Bellona. Prissy Rumel and Morita de Mali came in 2nd overall in the Open class.

Michael Vermaas and Rebecca Algar each earned their first qualifying score toward their Bronze Lifetime Rider Medal, while Prissy Rumel earned her first two qualifying scores and Jaedon Warren earned his second qualifying score for Bronze Lifetime Rider Medal.

Deirdra Keithley and Kiss My Angel were the sole competitors in the Novice B class at the show, earning 6 points for their first-place finish in each trial. They also earned two more qualifying scores toward Deirdra’s Lifetime Bronze Medal in the process.

In the three-entry Intermediate A Amateur class, Kiki Pantaze rode Sandhaven Late to the Party to the overall win, with Jade Watts Gonzales and Fineleehetouchedme coming in right behind. Both Kiki and Jade earned two more qualifying scores toward their Silver Lifetime Rider Medals.

Lisa Harding and Sandhaven Shameless were the sole entries in the Intermediate A Open class, earning 6 points for successfully completing all three trials and in the process earning Lisa a qualifying score toward her Silver Lifetime Rider Medal.

Andrea Galbraith rode Dylan Casimoro to victory in the one-entry Intermediate B Amateur class, in the process earning her third qualifying score toward her Silver Lifetime Rider Medal. Meanwhile, Tarrin Warren rode TNT Countin Mountains to the win in the one-entry Intermediate B Open class.

Results from this competition also moved things around a bit on both the National and Regional Leaderboards

Jade and Fineleehetouchedme have surged into the #1 spot in the Nation at the Intermediate level, with Kiki and Sandhaven Late to the Party trailing just 2 points behind. Points earned at this competition also moved Susan Dossett and Ill Postre into a two-way tie for #10 in the Nation at the Introductory level.

Among Introductory-level Junior riders, Riley Pirkle and Meredith Villarial are now tied for #2 in the Nation. Jaedon Warren, meanwhile, is tied for the #2 spot in the Nation among Novice-level Junior riders, with Stacey Peuplie in 4th and Dawson Warren tied for 5th place national standings.
