Show Report: KarMik Acres, October 21, 2017

Thirteen competitors in the Introductory level, split between Amateur and Open divisions, led the way in entries at the October 21, 2017 B-Rated Show hosted by KarMik Acres in Illinois on October 21, 2017. The event was judged by Tarrin Warren, R, Texas.

Kris Blacklock and her Quarter Horse mare Boon Ocean Blue not only led the seven-entry Amateur Introductory class; they also finished first overall when Amateur and Open were combined into a thirteen-entry class (which we do for the purpose of awarding points for year-end awards). Not far behind, Amateur owner Christine Righeimer rode her Paint mare Whisper to a 2nd place finish and Reserve Champion honors. In the process, Kris and Boon Ocean Blue shot up to 2nd place in the National Standings for all Introductory-level horse/rider pairs at the Introductory level, while Christine and Whisper moved up to 6th place in the Nation.

Mike Boso rode Chance to the top finish among the six Open Division riders, with Lorelei Benkendorf and Wrigley coming in 2nd among Open Division Introductory level riders.

Emily Kemp rode Honey to a 1st place finish in the two-entry Intermediate A class, with Mike Boso and Tango coming in 2nd.

Mario Contreras rode RA Maximo to a 1st place finish in the one-entry Intermediate B class.
