Illinois welcomed WE fans to a second day of competition hosted by KarMik Acres on October 22, 2017. The event saw 17 competitors gathering together to test their skills.
Amateur rider Maureen Tolemy rode Silky to the Championship in the Introductory level Amateur class, with scores high enough to have placed her at the top even when Open and Amateur were combined. Open division rider Toni Harmon and Ripley won the Open Championship at the Introductory level, with the second highest points earned out of all Introductory level riders at the event.
Jill Heisler and Preacher won the one-entry Novice A class. Emily Kemp and Honey won the two-entry Intermediate A class, with Mike Boso and Tango coming in 2nd place overall at that level. Mario Contreras rode RA Maximo to a win in the one-entry Intermediate B class at the event.
Points earned over the weekend’s two shows launched Kris Blacklock into the #2 spot in the National Standings and moved Christine Righeimer into the #6 spot, nationally.
Regionally, points earned at the two shows, combined with points earned over the September 23-24th weekend show, have moved a number of Region 5 members onto the Regional Leaderboard as well.
