Eleven horse/rider pairs joined judge Rebecca Algar at Pepperglen Farm in Norco, California, for a B-Rated Working Equitation competition on February 3, 2019.
Kaylie Cox and Sille van de Veenhoeve swept the three-entry Introductory class (earning 72.91% in Dressage and 64.00% in Ease of Handling). Linda Horn and Meet Me in Hollywood came in 3rd in Dressage (53.70%) and 2nd in Ease of Handling (59.30%) to finish 2nd overall. Nancy Fite and Mikie came in 2nd in Dressage (55.80%) and 3rd in Ease of Handling (56.00%) to finish 3rd overall.
Laura Wilton and Angelita de Gracia won the three-entry Novice A Open class, earning 2nd in Dressage (60.00%) and Ease of Handling (51.56%) and 1st in Speed (3:16.51). Lisa Scebbi and Zillertal Atom came in 2nd overall, earning 3rd in Dressage (53.40%), 1st in Ease of Handling (56.50%), and 2nd in Speed (3:21.99). Gina LaRock and Mingo won the Dressage trial (61.80%) but were disqualified in both Ease of Handling and Speed to finish 3rd overall.
Bryan Ludens and Lark of Honor Bright swept their two-entry Novice B class (63.30%, 60.62%, 3:54.30), with Michelle Osada and Our Midnight Patriot placing 2nd in each trial as well as overall (56.60%, 52.18%, 4:12.40).
Susan Watkins and Kiger Dios Estoy Aqui swept their two-entry Intermediate A class (68.70%, 66.50%, 3:00.11), with Bill Deeney and Certero BOT coming in 2nd (52.14%, 62.81%, 3:03.93).
Bill Deeney rode Harlow CR to a 1st place finish in Intermediate B, earning 60.52% in Dressage, 53.00% in Ease of Handling, and 2:54.54 in Speed.
