Show Report: Pepperglen Farm, Nov. 4, 2018

After a successful Saturday of Working Equitation fun, twenty-three horse/rider pairs gathered to compete on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at a second WE United licensed competition hosted by Pepperglen Farm in Norco, California. This one-day show was judged by Rebecca Algar, R, California, and managed by Lori Fairchild.

Children’s Level Results
Victoria Sanchez rode Chief in the Children’s Level, earning 52.11% in Dressage to finish 1st place for the event.

Introductory Level Results
Michelle Hill rode  Grand Espoir to a 1st place finish overall in the six-entry Introductory Amateur class, coming in 1st in both Dressage (63.20%) and Ease of Handling (70%). Jackie Leopard and Lucy took 4th in Dressage (60.40%) and 2nd in Ease of Handling (67.81%) to come in 2nd place overall. Andrea Sullivan and Ce’u do Fino won 3rd place overall, finishing 2nd in Dressage (61.40%) and 4th in Ease of Handling (58.75%). Youth rider Kaylie Cox rode her Friesian Sille van de Veenhoeve to a 4th place finish overall, coming in 3rd in Dressage (61.20%) and 5th in Ease of Handling (55.63%). Nancy Fite rode Mikie to a 5th place finish overall, coming in 5th in Dressage (51.80%) and 3rd in Ease of Handling (59.38%).

In the four-entry Introductory Open class, Abigail Followill on El Campeon’s Donatello placed 1st in both Dressage (74.80%) and Ease of Handling (78.44%) to take 1st place overall honors. Lisa Scebbi and Friesian Heritage Horse Zillertal Atom placed 2nd in Dressage (65.60%) and 3rd in Ease of Handling (70.63%) to win 2nd place overall. Michele Purpora-Tardi rode Jay’s Kooky Cutter to a 3rd place finish overall, placing 3rd in Dressage (61.40%) and 2nd in Ease of Handling (74.69%). Jeff Ohaco rode El Campeon’s Monterey into 4th place overall, earning 58.60% in and 5th 60.94% in Ease of Handling.

Novice A Level Results
In the five-entry Novice A class, Andrea Lora and her Arabian Zarah placed 3rd in Dressage (58.91%), 1st in Ease of Handling (70.26%), and 2nd in Speed (3:39.4) to win 1st place overall. Laura Wilton and Angelita da Gracia made their Working Equitation competition debut in grand style, coming in 2nd in Dressage (67.39%), 4th in Ease of Handling (66.05%), and 1st in Speed (3:29.5) to win 2nd place overall. Bryan Ludens on Friesian stallion Lark of Honor Bright placed 1st in Dressage (68.48%) and 3rd in Ease of Handling (67.90%) to take 3rd place overall honors.  Sue Grant and grade horse Carol’s Legacy came in 2nd in Ease of Handling (70%) and 3rd in Speed (4:03.7) to finish 4th place overall. Barbara Lawson rode her Lusitano Dom do Nico to a 5th place finish overall, placing 4th in Dressage (56.52%) and 4th in Speed (7:02.5).
Novice B Level Results
Michelle Osada and her Tennessee Walking Horse Our Midnight Patriot made their WE Competition debut, taking home top honors in the one-entry Novice B class.
Intermediate A Level Results
Polly Limond and grade horse Flying Tiger swept the two-entry Intermediate A class, earning 1st in Dressage (78.89%), Ease of Handling (80.79%), and Speed (3:09.5) to finish 1st place overall.  Bill Deeney rode Harlow CR, a Lusitano owned by Nadine Tilley, to a 2nd place finish overall, with 58.33% in Dressage, 57.11% in Ease of Handling, and a Speed time of 3:43.0.
Intermediate B Level Results
Cassandra Adams and Dutch Horse Friends Arjen swept the four-entry Intermediate B class, winning 1st in Dressage (67.69%), Ease of Handling (72%) and Speed (3:19.6) to finish 1st place overall. Bill Deeney and Lusitano Cereja placed 2nd in Dressage (60%), Ease of Handling (65.5o%), and Speed (3:35.2) to take 2nd place overall honors. Robin Bond rode Quarter Horse Rips Rey Jay tied for 3rd place in Dressage (56.15%) and Ease of Handling (63.25%) to place 3rd overall. Bob Lawson rode his Lusitano Burladero to a tie for 3rd in Dressage (56.14%) and a 4th place in Ease of Handling (53.50%) to finish 4th place overall.
