South Ridge Farms held its second WE United B-Rated Competition on May 15, 2016, with 23 entries coming from as far south as Eugene, Oregon and as far North as Calgary, Canada.
Amateur riders ruled the day, with both the Introductory and Novice level classes 8 deep. Lizann Dunegan took home the Overall Champion at both the Introductory Level (with her Friesian mare Yfke Von Borstel and her Andalusian gelding Miguel BTSF, respectively).
Right behind her in the Introductory class was Cassy Holcomb on her Quarter Horse All Reddy Crowned, followed closely by Denise Lukins on Mahon II FLH, a Haflinger. In Novice, Alison Burnett and her Andalusian Lourinho AFA and Mckinley Wall on Quarter Horse Flyin Pine Destiny came in second and third, with Nicole Lansdell on PDD Strawberry Pie finishing fourth.
Jill Barron came in first on Quarter Horses Genuine Chaos and second on Nu Chex Dunit in the Novice Open class, with Elizabeth Kalik and her Drum horse HyTyme Smoke N Mirrors capturing the third place rosette.
The competition was judged by Barbara Price, r, from California, with Julie Alonzo serving as Technical Delegate and Susan Macintosh Show Manager / Show Secretary. Numerous volunteers made the event run smoothly. Congratulations to all the competitors, and thank you to all the spectators and volunteers for making the event memorable for all the right reasons.
