Fourteen competitors came to Elkhorn, Nebraska, to compete in the B-Rated competition hosted by Working Equitation Nebraska’s Kelli Paulson on July 9, 2017. The event was judged by Tarrin Warren, R, Texas.
Louise McCall and Rio Bravo earned a 56.67% in Dressage and a 65% in Ease of Handling to win the five-entry Introductory level class, securing 12 points toward their year-end standings in the process. Kara Honeysuckle-Mehaffy and Diaman H De La Creme finished 2nd overall at the Introductory level, in the process moving into 5th place in the National standings for horse/rider pair. Michele Lincoln and Major Design came in third overall.
Hallie Paulson rode three horses in the seven-entry Novice A class, finishing first overall with Chocolate Fantastic, second overall with Nova, and seventh overall with Charlie. Dana Kesselring and Wrangler ended the day in third-place overall at the Novice A level. The 31 points she accumulated at this show sky-rocketed her into the top of the National Standings for Novice Level Youth. Way to go, Hallie!
Kim McBroom’s scores of 63.65% in Dressage and 62.37% in Ease of Handling in the Novice B class mean she is just two scores away from earning her Bronze Medal. Pretty impressive for someone in her first year of competing in WE! Her horse, Oakley Twistin Lark earned 6 more points toward year-end awards at this competition.
Bill Walton and Pepto’s San Vanna, competing at the Intermediate B level, earned an additional 4 points toward their year-end standings, moving them into 11th place in the Nation at the Intermediate level currently (just one point away from taking their place on the National Leaderboard).
