Emily Kemp of Kemp Horsemanship hosted two one-day back-to-back licensed WE shows the weekend of August 3-4, 2019, with Doreen Atkinson, S, officiating as Judge and Kris Blacklock assisting with the online Gira.io system (and numerous other things).
In all, 19 horse/rider pairs participated, with 15 competing and 4 opting for Schooling rounds. Becky Sherven on Lena, Howard Peet on Arturo PA, and Janita Smith on RHF Leia all finished the first day of showing having earned 20 points in the 12-entry Introductory Open class. In the end, though, the average Dressage/Ease of Handling scores brought the overall victory to Becky Sherven, with Howard placing 2nd, and Janita finishing in 3rd. Just one point behind the three leaders, Sandy Klinkey and Coco Babe came in 4th place overall, while Erica Peet and SA Bravata finished 5th.
Kris Blacklock and her Quarter Horse mare Boon Ocean Blue returned to the show arena for the first time this year, having taken a number of months off to prepare for their promotion to the Novice A level. The time appears to have been well-spent, as the two of them swept their two-entry Novice A class to emerge overall champions for the day. Lori Fisher and Dream Weaver’s Quest also successfully completed all three trials at the Novice A level. Congratulations!
Howard Peet and SM Serafin successfully completed all three trials to win 1st place in the Intermediate A class.
