WE United Region 5 September Show, I

Region 5 hosted their first licensed WE United competition September 23, 2017 in Wonder Lake, Illinois. The event was judged by Polly Limond, r, California. Competitors came from Illinois as well as Wisconsin, with volunteers traveling from as far away as Oregon and Michigan to help make the event a success.

Kris Blacklock rode her four-year old Quarter Horse Boon Ocean Blue to the overall win in the five-entry Introductory Level class, with Sandy Klinky and her Spotted Saddle Horse Coco came in 2nd overall.

Kim Corcoran and her Appendix Quarter Horse mare Dashing Player were the overall winner in the three-entry Novice A class, while first-time Working Equitation competitor Rachel Olson and her Haflinger Adelweisse IC took home the Reserve Champion overall honors. In the process, both women earned their first qualifying scores toward their Bronze Lifetime Rider Medals.

Erica Peet rode Janita Smith’s PRE Andalusian gelding SM Serafin to the win in the one-entry Intermediate A class.
